To contribute to a campaign, look for the big Contribute Now button on the right hand side of any active campaign page. Clicking on this button will bring you to the Contribution Check Out page. Please note that your credit card or PayPal account will be charged immediately, as soon as you complete your contribution check out process, not at the end of the campaign.

As you go through the Contribution page, you will need to decide:

Perk & Amount: How much do you want to give?

  • Enter the total amount of your contribution. If the campaign is in a currency other than your own, be aware that you will be charged the equivalent in your own currency. Contributions will need to be rounded to the nearest whole unit of currency. The minimum contribution amount is 1 USD ($), CAD (C$), EUR (€) or GBP (£) (depending on the campaign's currency). The maximum contribution amount depends on your contribution method and the campaign's funding structure: Contribution Amount Restrictions.
  • Select your desired perk, if available. You may choose "No perk, I just want to contribute." if you'd prefer not to claim a perk in exchange for your contribution.

Contact Information: Do you have an Indiegogo account?

  • If you have an Indiegogo account but are not logged in, you can log into your account at the bottom of the page.
  • If you don't have an Indiegogo account, enter in the email address you'd like us to send your contribution receipt to. If you'd like to be able to manage your contribution settings, you'll be able to sign up for an Indiegogo account after your contribution is made.

Shipping Information: Where should the campaign owner send your perk?

  • If available, please give us your name and address when prompted. Don't worry; this information is kept confidential and is only shared with the campaign owner!
  • Receiving perks often takes time. If you expect to change addresses soon and need to know when to expect your perk, please contact the campaign owner directly for information about your perk's estimated delivery schedule. [Related Forum Article: How to Check on Your Perks]
  • If you can’t find your country in the drop-down menu when trying to contribute to a campaign, your country may be one that we are currently unable to support. Please contact support@indiegogo.com if you have any questions.

Payment: How would you like to pay?

You have two options:

  1. Direct credit card
    • Enter your card information. Don't worry; this information is protected and is never saved by Indiegogo [Related Forum Article: Online Security]
    • We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. We do NOT accept pre-paid value cards
  2. PayPal
    • Click on the Contribute button and click 'continue' to be taken to the PayPal payment gateway
    • Your card will NOT be charged when you click 'continue'.  There are a few more steps to complete.
    • EITHER log in to PayPal to complete your contribution OR click on "Pay with a credit or debit card" to pay without signing in
    • Please note, you do NOT need to have or start a PayPal account to pay through PayPal. [Related Forum Article: How to Contribute via PayPal without a PayPal Account]

The option to contribute with either credit card or PayPal is set by the campaign owner. If you cannot select a contribution method, it has probably been disabled. Verified Nonprofit Campaigns, for example, may only be able to offer the credit card payment option in order to issue tax receipts to U.S. contributors.

Personalization: Is this contribution from you or from someone else?

  • If you would like someone else to be attributed to the contribution, check the box to contribute on behalf of someone else. Their name will show up on the Contributors tab of the Campaign page. Any comments you write in the next step of the contribution process will be attributed to you, not the person you're contributing on behalf of. [Related Forum Article: How to Contribute for a Friend]
  • If this contribution is from YOU, make sure you are not signed in to someone else's Indiegogo account

Personalization: How do you want your name and contribution amount displayed on the campaign page?

You can choose whether or not you want your name and contribution amount to be displayed on the campaign page under the Funders tab. Choose “Visible" if you want both your name and amount displayed, “Identity-Only” if you want only your name displayed without your amount, and “Anonymous” if you want only your amount displayed. Comment: Would you like to leave a comment?

This will show up on the campaign page. If you choose to make an Anonymous contribution, your comment will be private and can only be viewed by you and the campaign administrators. If you choose to contribute on behalf of someone else, the comment will be attributed to you, not the person you're contributing on behalf of.

Comment: Do you want to get updates from the campaign?

Campaign owners will send you updates on their progress. You can un-check this box if you would like to opt out from updates.

You will be sent a confirmation email once your payment is complete. Your credit card or PayPal account will be charged immediately, not at the end of the campaign. [Related Forum Article: How to Know if Your Contribution is Successful]
