Displaying this information, including number of friends, signals the breadth of a campaigner’s social network and online presence. These additional pieces of information can help inform contributors’ decisions about contributing to a campaign on Indiegogo.
The Types of Verifications:
Each Verified Badge indicates that an account holder has completed a specific set of verifications:
- Verified Email Badge - an Indiegogo account holder must have completed steps to confirm that they have access to the email address listed in their Indiegogo profile.
- Verified Facebook Badge - an Indiegogo account holder must have connected their Facebook account to their Indiegogo Profile
Note: a Verified Badge is not an endorsement, by Indiegogo, of any user, a guarantee of their identity, nor should they be taken as any assurance or guarantee about the user or their credentials.
How do I get a Verified Facebook Badge?
- Log into your Indiegogo account
- Select your name in the upper right corner and ‘My Profile’ from the drop-down menu
- Select ‘Edit Profile & Settings’
- Select ‘Connect Facebook’ under the “Settings” tab on the ‘Social Connection’ feature
Once you’ve successfully connected with Facebook the ‘Facebook Verified’ badge will be added to your individual profile.
How Do I Get a Verified Email Badge?
If you’d like to have the ‘Verified Email’ badge on your profile:
- Log into your Indiegogo account
- Select your name in the upper right corner and ‘My Profile’ from the drop-down menu
- Select ‘Edit Profile & Settings’
- Click on the 'Verify' button
You will then receive an email from Indiegogo. Click the link provided with this email to verify your email address. Once you click on this link in the email, the ‘Verified Email’ badge will be listed on your Indiegogo account.
