What is Apple Pay?
Indiegogo is the first crowdfunding platform to offer Apple Pay to campaigners and backers on the web. Contributing to a campaign has never been easier, safer, or more private. Use Indiegogo on Safari with your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to back a campaign with Apple Pay one-touch checkout.
How do I get Apple Pay to work on my device?
Setup is simple. To use Apple Pay, you need a supported bank card. You can add up to eight cards on any device. If you want to use Apple Pay with more than one device, you need to add your card to each device.
Please check out this guide for step-by-step guidance.
Is my credit card information secure?
Yes. As a security measure, the credit card details aren't actually stored on your device, or on Apple's servers. The payment network or issuing bank will provide a Device Account Number, using a technique called tokenisation: replacing a sensitive piece of data with a random piece of data that typically has the same format. Tokenisation removes the need to update existing systems that require a credit-card number, without exposing the real number to theft.
Who can contribute through Apple Pay?
On Indiegogo, you can use Apple Pay on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. To use Apple Pay within Safari on your Mac, Allow Payments on Mac needs to be enabled on your iPhone.
System requirements are as follows:
- iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and later (in stores, within apps, and websites in Safari)
- iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, and later (within apps and websites in Safari)
- Apple Watch paired with your iPhone (in stores, within apps, and on websites in Safari)
- Mac (2012 or newer) paired with your iPhone or Apple Watch and signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID (websites in Safari)
- The latest version of iOS, watchOS, or macOS
Within the Indiegogo app, you can also use Apple Pay on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
Can contributors from outside the US use Apple Pay?
Apple Pay works with most major credit and debit cards.
How do I receive funds raised through Apple Pay?
The timing and method by which you will receive money depends on how your campaign receives contributions. All contributions you receive via credit card -- as it is the case when you receive contributions through Apple Pay -- will be sent to your bank account after your campaign deadline. You can expect your funds to arrive in your bank account within 15 business days after your campaign ends.
