About InDemand
What is InDemand?
InDemand makes it easy for any campaign which met their fundraising goal by their deadline, to keep raising funds after their campaign ends. Continue raising money and building your community for as long as you’d like.
InDemand lets you:
- Accept contributions after your crowdfunding campaign ends
- Grow your community and reach new audiences
- Receive ongoing exposure on the Indiegogo platform
Who is eligible for InDemand?
Any campaign which meets its goal by the campaign deadline, and is in good standing with Indiegogo may move into InDemand.
If your campaign did not meet its goal by the deadline, it is not eligible for InDemand and your campaign will remain closed.
Note: In the event you did not meet your goal by the deadline, and are not eligible for InDemand, you are welcome to consider running a follow up campaign, provided you've fulfilled your current campaign obligations and promises to backers.
Joining and Leaving
How do I participate in InDemand?
Campaigns are automatically opted into InDemand. To confirm this, sign in your Indiegogo account and visit your campaign page. Click ‘Campaign Editor‘ on the sidebar of your campaign page. Click 'Settings' from the sidebar. The 'Opt into InDemand' box is pre-checked as the default. You'll need to then reach or exceed your goal, and reach your deadline for your project to roll into InDemand.
When does InDemand start?
InDemand will automatically start after your campaign deadline, provided your campaign has reached its goal.
Note: If your campaign does not meet the goal by the deadline, it will not be eligible for InDemand and will close.
How do I opt out of InDemand?
- If you are in draft or a launched campaign, you can go to the Settings tab of your campaign editor and uncheck the "Opt in to InDemand" checkbox.
- If you are in an InDemand campaign, you can visit the Settings tab of your campaign editor and click the "Opt Out" button.
Once I opt out of InDemand, can I later opt back in?
InDemand pages can be opted back in, provided they meet the below criteria:
- The InDemand must have been turned off via an Opt-Out, made by the campaigner.
- InDemand pages that were turned off by Indiegogo's Trust & Safety team cannot be reopened.
- InDemand pages that were turned off due to our policy of shutting down InDemand pages if they don't receive a contribution in a 6 month window cannot be reopened. Learn more about the policy, here.
- InDemand pages that were turned off because they have not fulfilled their perks within three (3) months of the estimated delivery date cannot be reopened.
- The campaign team has been maintaining good communication with Backers (via updates, comments, and responding to emails) and has been meeting our updates policy.
- The campaign and its team must be in good standing with Indiegogo.
If your campaign meets the above criteria and you'd like to reopen your InDemand page, please email support.indemand@indiegogo.com. Be sure to outline your request and email from the email address associated with your campaign.
Why is my InDemand campaign under investigation?
InDemand campaigns are subject to our Terms of Use which state "Indiegogo may remove a Campaign from InDemand if Perks have not been fulfilled within three (3) months after the estimated delivery date, or if the fulfillment of Perks is delayed indefinitely." Our Trust & Safety team will work with Campaign Owners to review perk fulfillment and can end an InDemand campaign if perks are not fulfilled within three months after the estimated delivery date.
Payments
How much does it cost to participate in InDemand?
Platform fees in InDemand are 5% if you ran your funding campaign on Indiegogo. The InDemand fee for campaigns that did not originally run on Indiegogo is an 8% platform fee, with a 15% (total) fee on any funds driven by Indiegogo's platform channels. Third party payment processing fees also apply. Contact us for more information.
- For more information on standard fees and pricing, see our article on Pricing & Fees.
When do I get my money?
Funds raised are sent to your bank account (less Indiegogo fees) within 15 business days after your Funding campaign’s deadline. Initial disbursement will include all contributions made during your Deadline Funding, and may also include funds raised during the InDemand portion. Following this initial disbursement, funds raised during InDemand are disbursed every 4 weeks and it can take 3-5 business days for funds to arrive in your bank account.
The amount of funds we disburse to you during the InDemand period may be adjusted for accuracy. If a chargeback is lost against your campaign, and the lost chargeback has already been disbursed to you, we will hold the appropriate amount of funds raised during InDemand to cover the cost of this chargeback. This will only occur in the case where you raise funds during the InDemand period that have not yet been disbursed to you.
Please note that Indiegogo can only send your funds if you have raised more than 100 in your currency after fees. If your InDemand campaign does not raise more than the minimum disbursement amount within a 6 month period, your campaign will be closed automatically.
For more information on normally scheduled disbursements, see our article on When do I get my money?
For more information on the status of your campaign’s funds, please visit the "Finances" tab on your Campaign Dashboard.
Will Indiegogo send me a 1099-K form?
- Please see this help center article for more information about taxes.
Communicating with your audience
What is Indiegogo telling my audience?
- Visitors will see that your campaign has ended and is still accepting contributions.
- Visitors will see the total funds raised as your InDemand page continues to update.
- Visitors will be able to select a perk you've listed as an offer on your page.
What should I tell my audience?
It’s important to keep your campaign page updated, for both previous backers and new visitors alike.
Here are four easy steps to keep raising funds now that your campaign has ended:
- Update your story:
Edit your text, tagline, or campaign video to show visitors your campaign has ended and is now in InDemand.
- Assess your perks:
Modify or adjust your perks or pricing as needed. Remember: You can always hide or add new perks.
- Inform your followers:
Let your followers know why your campaign is continuing to raise funds after your campaign has ended, and what they can do to help.
- Share your InDemand Page:
Reach out to your broader community, and encourage them to spread the word.
As with any stage of raising funds on Indiegogo, transparency can help your backers feel engaged and at ease. Don’t forget to tell a compelling story: If enthusiasm from backers made you want to keep growing your community, or keep offering a specific perk before it’s available to the mass market, let your audience know.
How do I contact my previous backers only?
Since you’ll have funds from individuals who’ve contributed at different times, you may want to direct ongoing communications to all backers, or to a specific group.
Updates work the same way for an InDemand page as they did for your live campaign and are sent to all your followers. If you wish to contact a specific group, simply download backer email addresses in a .csv file. You can send a message through your own mail-client to backers from any date range you determine.
Promotion
Will my URL change?
It’s the same campaign page and URL, so you don’t have to redirect traffic and you can keep the same search engine rankings.
How will Indiegogo promote my campaign?
Promotion is largely based on activity – the more active you are and the more of your community you bring to Indiegogo, the more promotion you can expect to receive. We also regularly feature campaigns on our blog, newsletter, and social media channels.
Should I continue to direct traffic to my InDemand Page, my own website, or both?
You will be able to continue accepting contributions on your InDemand page, which will always show the funds you raised during your campaign and InDemand periods. Any visitor will be able to contribute, so we recommend continuing to direct traffic to your InDemand Page.
Campaign Management
What can and can’t I edit when in InDemand?
You can edit the same things in InDemand that you can with your live campaign. This includes your campaign video, title, tagline, pitch description, media, team, payment type and information, URL, updates, and perks.
You still will not be able to edit your funding goal, your campaign’s funding type, any perks already claimed by a backer, your funds recipient, or your campaign's currency.
Can I offer different perks or change perk pricing?
Yes, you can add, edit, and remove perks the same way you can when your campaign is live. You can also change pricing for any perk, yet once a perk has been claimed by a backer, it cannot be edited—only removed.
Should I offer different perks or change the price of a perk?
Backers often give multiple times to the same campaign, so offering a unique new perk, just for previous backers, is an easy way to thank them for helping you reach your goal. In addition, it can also help re-engage a loyal audience that’s already shown how much they care about your campaign.
Can I change my InDemand goal?
No, your InDemand goal is locked from your original campaign, and cannot be edited.
Will my campaign total funds raised increase?
Yes, your InDemand page will show total funds raised.
Dashboard: Tracking & Analytics
How do I track my campaign’s performance during InDemand?
Keep tracking your campaign analytics through your campaign dashboard to learn more about your audience. All the same tabs you see during your campaign phase (Campaign Insights, Perks, Items, Perks Claimed & Donations, and Finances) will be available to you throughout InDemand.
You can see all the funds raised throughout your entire campaign, or filter contributions between your live campaign and campaign in InDemand. It’s easy to compare analytics for each period separately.
