Once you enter a title for your campaign, you can see your final campaign URL. If you change your campaign title, your URL will also change, so make sure you’re happy with your title before you launch! See your URL by clicking the "Preview" button.
You may see some numbers added to your URL. Here are what the different parts of the link mean.
When you share your campaign using the Share tools on your page, your user ID is added to the link. This is how Indiegogo tracks referrals. Read more about referrals here.
The word after the hashtag denotes which tab of the campaign you’re viewing. #/Story is the main page of your campaign, while #/Updates is where you can send out messages to all your contributors.
Please note: If there are multiple campaigns with the same title, a number will be added to the end of the URL, i.e. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/my-campaign-title--7/
Short Link
If your title is long or hard to remember, you can create a shorter link to share in emails or any promotional materials you’re using for your campaign. Create this short link on the Extras tab of your campaign draft.
This field is asking you to enter a nickname for your campaign. For example, if you’re running a campaign for a film called Gray Socks, your can enter GraySocksFilm in the short link field. This will make your short URL http://igg.me/at/GraySocksFilm You can also separate your words with hyphens, like http://igg.me/at/Gray-Socks-Film
Mobile Web:
When posting your URL, if you'd like for people on both desktop and mobile web to view the page with your video, be sure to share the URL with no anchor at the end.
On mobile web we split up the campaign page into two pages:.
- The first page of a campaign on mobile web is the page with the video and perks - the URL is: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/star-trek-axanar (no #/story in the URL).
- If someone wants to then read the pitch/story of a campaign, they have to click the "Read Story" option. Clicking that link directs them to the #/story page: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/star-trek-axanar/#/story
To make link on your website go to the initial page with the video on mobile, it is necessary to direct people to https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/star-trek-axanar (take out the #/story portion of the URL).
Using the URL with the #/story or other anchor (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/star-trek-axanar/#/story) will cause the user to skip the page with your video and just view the story page.
