How much does Indiegogo cost? Fees & Pricing

  • Indiegogo's platform fee on all funds raised is 5%.
  • It is free to sign up and create a campaign and fees are deducted from the funds you actually raise (not the goal you set).
  • In addition PayPal and Stripe (credit card processor) charge a processing fee, based on several factors, including the funding type and currency you choose, and the country in which your bank is located.

Troubleshooting for images & videos

I get an error message when trying to add a picture to my campaign.

  • Make sure your images are in either JPG, PNG or SVG format.
  • If your images are in the correct format, log out of your Indiegogo account, clear the cache on your browser, log back in and try again.

I get an error message when I try to add my YouTube or Vimeo link.

  • Make sure your Privacy settings are set to Public (on YouTube) or Anyone (on Vimeo). If using YouTube, you can also set your privacy to Unlisted.
  • Make sure your link is formatted correctly. For YouTube, you should use the full URL and not your share URL. For example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vx1OVLX5Rc is correct, but https://youtu.be/_vx1OVLX5Rc is not. For Vimeo, format your link like this: https://vimeo.com/37328349

What you can & can't edit after your campaign is live

After your campaign is live, you will still be able to edit and update many aspects of your campaign. You can edit your campaign by clicking “Edit Campaign” in the campaign toolbar just above your campaign's title.

What You CAN'T Edit After Your Campaign Is Live

  • Your campaign's funding type -- Fixed or Flexible Funding
  • Any perks that have been claimed by a contributor
  • Your campaign's currency
  • The PayPal account listed on your campaign
  • The nonprofit status of your campaign, as well as the nonprofit organization to which the funds are being sent
  • If you are raising funds in USD and have a US bank account, you will not be able to change the legal first and last name, date of birth, or country of legal residence for the funds recipient. This is the person who will be receiving the funds to their bank account, so make sure this information is accurate before launching. If you are raising funds for a business, the business name and Tax ID number also cannot be changed.

I'm having trouble contributing

Sometimes contribution attempts are unsuccessful. This can be due to a variety of factors and typically, we've found that the following can be helpful to address blocks:

  • Attempt to make the payment at a different time
  • Clear your cache and cookies or try a different web browser (See: http://www.whatismybrowser.com/ to ensure your browser is up to date)
  • Attempt to make the payment from a different card
  • Get a Verified PayPal account if you pay through PayPal
  • Ensure that you are making your payment from your country of residence. If possible attempt to complete the payment from your home computer or the computer you most frequently use to access your PayPal or credit/bank account.

If none of these tactics work, we'd recommend reaching out to your credit card issuing company or bank; or PayPal's Support directly (https://www.paypal.com/webapps/helpcenter/helphub/home/), as there could be some restrictions with your account or card that they'll be able to help identify and clear for you on their end.

When your contribution is successful, we will send an automatic email confirmation to the email you provided during the contribution process.

I have a question about a perk I claimed

Perk offers are made and managed by campaign owners and only they are able to answer your questions about estimated shipping and delivery dates. We also recommend checking the campaign's recent updates and social media accounts for information.

  • Go to the Campaign Home page
  • Click on "Contact" below the campaign pitch video/image. You can then send a message to the campaign owner. By sending this message you'll share your email address and the campaign owner can respond directly via email to your message.

Send a direct message to the campaign owner:

  1. Log into your Indiegogo account
  2. Go to the Campaign page, and click on the "Contact" link underneath the main pitch video / image
  3. Type your message in the field
  4. Ensure you check the "I am not a robot" box and/or complete the captcha as listed
